Trek4Good Summary of Project: Trek4Good is a volunteer program of The Mountain Fund. This program was started in order to address the need of volunteers to both see the country and contribute their time. By hosting volunteer visits that are close to the people and the cultures of the country, we help to prepare them to be more effective volunteers with a deeper understanding of the issues. Every Trek4Good trip either has a volunteer component built in, or is organized to raise funds for a particular project we support. It is another way that we can support our community-based partners around the world and educate more people through direct, personal experience.
We organize 'moving medical camps' to provide basic healthcare and medical treatment, begin to survey and collect data needed to ascertain the long term health and public health needs of rural villages. Our volunteer medical team will trek deep into the rural countryside, and bring along with us the equipment and supplies needed to stay several days in villages and conduct health clinics.
On our treks, we provide free medical services to anyone needing it, including all medication. We typically see 100-150 people per day, and our daily cost of medicine is $300 on average. Total Funding Goal: $3,000 USD To ensure medication and supplies for ongoing treks | How You Can Help:
- $10 provides enough medicine for a family of four
- $20 provides enough medicine for two families
- $300 provides enough medicine for one entire village

More Information About Our Treks:
- All of our trips are designed to immerse you in the local culture and flavor of Peru and Nepal. We know the locals and work with them every day. Your guide and staff grew up in these countries and are experts in the languages, customs and history of the places you will visit on your trip.
- We are fully committed to your trip being comfortable, as well as memorable. On our tented trips, we use the highest-quality Mountain Hardwear four-season tents. Our dining tents are either Mountain Hardwear Space Stations or Mountain Hardwear Strongholds. There are simply no finer tents that money can buy.
- We are also committed to environmentally responsible trips. At our tented travel destinations, we use Phillips Environmental PETT toilet tents.
- Our cooks are simply the best! You’ll enjoy fresh, tasty food prepared each day for your enjoyment.
- We are committed to our porters and arrerios providing them with good wages, clothing, and food. They are our friends. They will soon be your friends too.

Introducing "1% For The People"
- The Mountain Fund and its Trek4Good program are proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Adventure Engine. Adventure Engine is an online administration suite providing everything from trip reservation programs, inventory management systems, merchant accounts, e-commerce solutions, marketing and distribution programs to adventure tourism suppliers, operators, outfitters and tour companies.
- The Mountain Fund/Adventure Engine partnership will make it possible for trekking companies, located where we are working, to access online sales and booking management and contribute to the social welfare of the country at the same time. A real win-win situation.
- One of the conditions of accessing Adventure Engine via The Mountain Fund is that 1% of all partners' trip sales will go to The Mountain Fund, and in turn, to be invested in schools, health clinics and other projects in areas where we work.
